LA CASA DELS PAVESOS

This project represents the complete transformation of an old ground-floor warehouse into a bright, functional dwelling with a strong material identity. Located on Calle Bany dels Pavesos, in the heart of Valencia’s historic centre, the intervention aims to enhance the original architecture of the building, reinterpreting it from a contemporary and comfortable perspective.

The starting point was to free the existing walls, revealing the handmade brick walls that had remained hidden beneath layers of previous interventions. This historical texture became the guiding thread of the project, adding character and authenticity to all the rooms.
The decision to leave them exposed, combined with natural wood joinery and a neutral palette, creates a warm atmosphere that breathes history and modernity at the same time.

The day area is conceived as a single fluid space where the living room, dining room, and kitchen coexist. The “L” shaped layout allows for the integration of a minimalist kitchen volume, featuring white lacquered lower cabinetry and upper cabinets in wood with pronounced grain.
The stone-finished countertop and track lighting reinforce a clean and functional aesthetic, complemented by the warmth of the vinyl flooring that provides visual continuity.

The recovery of the vaulted ceilings with wooden beams becomes the most powerful spatial gesture of the project, adding verticality and an almost artisanal atmosphere, typical of the historic ground floors in central Valencia.

The bedroom follows the same natural and soft line, with textiles in sandy tones and solid wood furniture. The light filtered through large curtains creates an intimate and serene environment, capable of isolating itself from the urban rhythm outside.

The bathroom combines large-format porcelain tiles in stone tones, perimeter indirect lighting, and black fittings to provide contrast.
The washbasin unit is resolved with a curved volume in wood, introducing an organic point that softens the geometry of the whole. The spacious and fully integrated shower completes the sophisticated atmosphere of the space.

Small support areas —such as the wooden vanity or the auxiliary bar with green stools— showcase the detail and personalization of the project, always from a functional and warm logic.

BTTEstudio signs this project as an exercise in architectural recovery, creating a contemporary dwelling from a residual space, respecting the memory of the building and adapting it to current needs.
The result is a warm, bright dwelling with character, perfectly integrated into one of the most historically significant locations in Valencia.
