Restaurante Bardebares

Bardebares is a project that brings together tradition, gastronomy, and design in the heart of Valencia. BTTEstudio undertook the full refurbishment of a party-wall building, with the challenge of transforming it into a gastronomic space distributed over four floors, where each level corresponds to a distinct experience, while always maintaining a coherent and carefully considered aesthetic identity.

The intervention began with the complete recovery of the property, working with particular sensitivity on the original façade, which was restored using a neutral colour palette and the preservation of the wooden windows, rehabilitated to maintain their original character. This commitment to respecting the existing structure is combined with a focus on materials that add personality and atmosphere to the whole.

Inside, the space is defined by a charcoal grey paint, applied continuously to walls and ceilings, creating a sober, elegant, and enveloping atmosphere. The contrasting element is provided by a vintage dark green ceramic cladding, which adds texture and character to the space, especially in key areas such as the bar or the wet cores.

The distribution across four levels allows for a functional and experiential organisation:

• Ground floor: main access with a bar, quick consumption area standing with stools, and a restroom.
• First floor: core of bathrooms and a dining room with capacity for around 25 diners, ideal for a more relaxed atmosphere.
• Second floor: kitchen and technical area, including a dishwashing area and support services.
• Third floor: a VIP space with a private terrace, designed as an exclusive area for events and private celebrations.

Bardebares thus becomes a vertically distributed gastronomic experience, where each floor offers a distinct atmosphere, maintaining material and aesthetic coherence throughout the journey. A place that recovers the essence of traditional Valencian tapas and reinterprets it through design, architecture, and attention to detail.
