La Casa del Artista

Turnkey full renovation of a flat on Paseo de la Pechina, Valencia, for an artist who needed to live and work in the same home: over 100 m² reorganised around daylight and a workspace integrated into the living area.

The challenge

The owner, an artist, wanted a flat that would serve as both home and workplace without either getting in the way of the other: abundant light for creating, a workspace that was not a closed room and a comfortable home for everyday life. The original flat, with compartmentalised rooms, offered neither the light nor the continuity needed.

The solution

The layout was reorganised to carry daylight along the longest possible path and connect the spaces. The living room was merged with the studio into a single flexible space, so that work and domestic life share the room without interrupting each other. The open-plan kitchen connects visually with the dining room.

The materials combine the contemporary with the warm: microcement floors in neutral tones that give continuity and breadth, eco paint on the walls, a kitchen with dark fronts and LED lighting integrated under the wall units, and natural wood in bespoke furniture. The bathrooms were fully renovated, with a glass shower and a bathtub. Lighting was designed by scenes, for working and for resting.

The result

A bright, quiet home in which the studio is part of the living room without invading it, with restrained finishes that leave the spotlight to the owner’s work. As a full renovation built by our own construction company, the client dealt with a single point of contact from design to handover, with a closed budget before starting.
