La Casa de la Luz

La Casa de la Luz is located in a residential area of Valencia, where natural light and connection with the surroundings are key elements in the design. This refurbishment project focuses on transforming an existing dwelling, adapting it to the contemporary needs of its inhabitants, who sought a space that promotes well-being and functionality without losing the essence of home. The premise of the project lies in maximising the entry of natural light, creating warm and welcoming environments that invite family interaction.

The layout of the dwelling has been reorganised to optimise the flow between spaces. Upon entering, one accesses a spacious living room that connects directly with the kitchen, generating an atmosphere of continuity that encourages interaction. Key spaces include a well-lit entrance hall that acts as a link between the day and night areas, as well as a small interior patio that allows light to penetrate the heart of the house. Notable design elements are the large floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views to the outside and the choice of a soft colour palette that contributes to the serenity of the environment.

Regarding materials, natural wood finishes have been chosen to provide warmth, combined with large-format ceramic flooring that facilitates cleaning and durability. The walls have been treated with eco-friendly paints that ensure a healthy environment, while the lighting installations have been designed to highlight the focal points of each room. The final atmosphere of La Casa de la Luz is that of a bright and welcoming home, where every detail has been carefully considered to create a harmonious space that respects the surroundings while adapting to the needs of its inhabitants.
