RESIDENCE UNIV. JB9 BUILDING

The project for the Residencia Universitaria JB9 is located in Valencia, in a dynamic and vibrant environment that houses a large student community. The client requested a design that not only meets the functional needs of accommodation but also fosters an atmosphere of coexistence and study, harmoniously integrating into the urban fabric of the city. The design premise was to create a space that combines comfort, modernity, and sustainability, to offer residents an enriching experience during their academic stage.

The layout of the residence has been planned to optimise interaction among students and the functionality of the spaces. Individual and shared rooms have been designed, complemented by common areas that include study rooms, a dining hall, and recreational zones. Elements such as internal courtyards and terraces allow natural light to enter and provide outdoor spaces that promote socialisation. The circulation has been carefully considered, with wide corridors connecting the different activity hubs, facilitating the flow of residents and creating a welcoming environment.

Regarding materials, an approach prioritising sustainability and durability has been adopted. Finishes in recycled wood have been used for the interiors, providing warmth and comfort, while the exterior spaces feature high-quality ceramic cladding, resistant to the elements, thus integrating the residence into the urban environment. The final atmosphere aims to be contemporary and inviting, with a neutral colour palette that encourages tranquility and study. Technical details such as efficient climate control systems and the incorporation of renewable energies ensure low energy consumption, contributing to the project’s commitment to sustainability.
