Restaurante El Virrey de Serrería

The project for the Restaurante Virrey de Serrería arises from the need to completely renew a venue with a strong neighbourhood identity, transforming it into a contemporary, attractive space full of character. The intervention seeks to balance the traditional aesthetics of the surroundings with a fresh and contemporary image that adds personality without losing authenticity.

The standout element of the design is the chevron ceramic cladding, a marked geometry in green and cream tones that enlivens the space and acts as a unifying thread throughout the restaurant. This pattern provides rhythm, depth, and a clearly recognisable visual signature. The presence of natural wood in the ceilings and furniture adds warmth and creates a balanced contrast with the dark tones of the skirting and vertical panels.

The lighting is conceived as a scenographic resource: pendant lamps, wall sconces, and indirect lighting points generate an enveloping atmosphere that invites guests to linger and enjoy. The bar, also clad in green ceramic and topped with a white countertop, serves as a social hub that organises circulation and defines the user experience.

The furniture alternates heights and typologies—low tables, high bars, and chairs in various finishes—adding dynamism and adapting to different uses. The large windows allow for a direct connection with the outside, filling the space with natural light and opening the restaurant to the street.

Virrey de Serrería thus becomes a warm, contemporary venue with a strong aesthetic, where every detail has been designed to enhance the dining experience and strengthen the identity of the project.
