LA CASA DEL AGUA

La Casa del Agua is a refurbishment project of a dwelling located in Valencia, arising from the client’s need to transform a conventional space into a home that engages with its natural surroundings. The premise of the project focuses on the integration of aquatic elements, aiming to create an atmosphere of serenity and well-being. The dwelling is situated in a residential neighbourhood where light and the surrounding vegetation play a fundamental role in shaping the inhabited space.

The layout of the house has been reorganised to optimise functionality and the connection between different spaces. Open and fluid areas have been created, where the living room connects directly with an interior garden that houses a small pond. This aquatic element not only serves as a visual focal point but also contributes to the regulation of temperature and humidity indoors. The kitchen, designed as a social space, integrates with the dining room, fostering family interaction and celebrations. Additionally, large windows have been incorporated to allow natural light to enter, creating a visual continuity with the exterior.

Regarding materials, a sustainable approach has been adopted, using oak wood for the finishes of the furniture and floors, which adds warmth to the environment. The ceramic tiles in blue and green tones evoke water, reinforcing the project’s theme. The walls have been treated with eco-friendly paints that allow for proper transpiration, while the use of glass in railings and partitions enhances brightness and the sense of spaciousness. The final atmosphere is calm and welcoming, designed to promote well-being and connection with nature, turning La Casa del Agua into a serene refuge in the heart of Valencia.
